Governments world-wide are imposing ever stricter regulations on all forms of industrial operations that could affect endangered ocean life forms, including within Taiwan. DFO provides MMO (Marine Mammal Observation) and PAM (Passive Acoustic Monitoring) for offshore windfarm projects during offshore piling operations, to ensure offshore wind developments meet strict environmental limits.

Our MMO Fleet and observers are suitably experienced and qualified personnel responsible for implementing guidelines set out to protect marine mammals from underwater noise created by industrial activities. PAM is used regularly in conjunction with MMOs to increase the probability of locating marine mammals, currently a compulsory scope during piling operations. We cooperate with local fishing associations to provide MMO and PAM service in compliance with Taiwanese law.
